Dr. Lucchesi is a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in Weston, Fl. She is originally from Venezuela, but has lived in the United States for more than thirty years. She provides services in both English and Spanish.
Dr. Lucchesi completed her undergraduate degree with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology at the University of Florida in 1994. She received her Master's (1997) and Doctoral degrees (2001) in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University.
During her doctoral training, Dr. Lucchesi worked in mental health community centers and specialized schools programs. She also served as a research and program coordinator for programs investigating the effect of trauma in children and adolescents and the use of psychodynamic psychotherapy in seriously emotionally disturbed adults. She completed her internship at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and received post-doctoral training at the Institute for Child and Family Health in Miami, Florida. She also worked as a psychologist for the Miami-Dade Public School System. Dr. Lucchesi has been in private practice first in Miami Beach and then in Weston, Florida since 2005.
Dr. Lucchesi has worked extensively with adolescents in diverse settings (i.e. school, home-based, residential treatments) and with many different struggles that teenagers face while experiencing this developmental stage. Dr. Lucchesi sees teenagers who are trying to cope with family conflict, divorce, anxiety, extreme shyness, depression, OCD, ADHD, sexual identity/orientation issues, hair pulling, nail biting, and many other conditions. Dr. Lucchesi is also a culturally competent psychologist with a great understanding of the vicissitudes of bilingual and/or multicultural families.
